Matrix Controls continuously strives to provide products and services that allow companies to consistently add to their bottom line. Fifty years of experience has allowed us to understand where those savings will begin, and with great clarity, that knowledge is relayed to our engineers, where designs are created to maximize production and efficiency, and systems are produced that are adaptable and flexible to your needs.

Quality/Production Monitoring and Tracking (Textiles, Food and Batching, and Apparel and Garment) begins that awareness, and we’ve been confident for years in taking control of company plant floors, as well as following your products from design, through production and into delivery. Matrix’s hardware, firmware and software solutions have covered defect scanning, automated inspecting, regulating and adjusting machine settings, product development, precision counters in production and output, and plant floor safety intervention. System packages have provided compliancy tracking, batching automation, computerized scaling systems, product quality consistency, and monitored flow of materials from receiving through production, and shipping and routing through orders received.

Imagine a Batching Manufacturing Shop Floor, or Manufacturing Execution System, MES, that offers,  batch, formula, recipe and ingredient scaling control, with inventory and production planning tools, all combined with a food traceability system compliant with FDA Article III tracking regulations.

Now, add a 10 person strong software development team, that designed an “ERP Integrator System” to accompany, the software, while 18 Technical Engineers develop and support the hardware communications. Twenty-Five plus years of experience in batch control and paperless lot tracking, for a system with tremendous return on investment value, and major brand, SQF, HACCP, and audit protection.

Automated Production Scheduling (APS) is a powerful and flexible decision support tool that portrays current shop floor conditions with color-coded images to give instant insight into what is happening on the plant floor. It allows you to optimize future production schedules by running simulations-“what if” scenarios, to choose the best plan to send down to production. APS provides, and will continue to provide companies with the following:

Capabilities: Objectives:
  • Real–time updating of production
  • Simulations (“What if” scenarios)
  • User – defined views of Plan or Bin
  • Material flow calculations
  • Additional/alternative resources for a step
  • Printed reports for production to use
  • Meet – customer order due dates
  • Maximize – utilization of machine, labor and materials
  • Minimize– idle time, overtime, step delays, lead/queue time, time in the system, and work in process inventory

Business and Production Intelligence Reporting allows your company to utilize the Dashboard, a technology that allows on-line reporting and the ability to drill down into the details on any given report. It provides the functionality and consistency that spreadsheets can not deliver in a ‘programming free’ environment that ensures a fast route to self-sufficiency. Business Intelligence provides a seamless solution for the support, control and management of core processes such as:

  • Reporting and Analysis
  • Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting
  • Profitability, Modeling and Optimization
  • Simulation and What-Ifs
  • Scorecarding, Dashboards and Key Performance Indicators
  • Financial and Consolidation

Systems Summary

Matrix’s Monitoring and Tracking Systems lead to impeccable product quality and consistency. Our systems have employed scanning, auto inspecting, precision counting, safety intervention, and regulation and adjustment of machine settings. We’ve introduced compliancy tracking, batching automation, computerized scaling systems, and monitored flow of materials from receiving through production, and shipping and routing through orders received.

Interestingly enough, it should be noted that repeatedly customers have given us feedback on our systems to the effect of, “The return on investment and increased profits have been tremendous, but you know what, with the reduction in chaos on the plant floor and the ability of employees to actually do their intended tasks, the reduction in personnel turnover has been dramatic!” It’s well known what hiring, training and rehiring can do to company bottom lines.

With major reductions in operators’ clerical work, they experience fewer interruptions, allowing increased production at the same work load and better quality. With downtime reduced to a minimum, production can only increase further. Management can look forward, as well, to less headaches, freeing up time for more productive planning, forecasting and better decision-making. Management productivity will expand further, as they can now look forward to total plant control as scheduling becomes automated, warehouses are fully monitored, preventive schedules are set and maximized with diagnostics, and reporting and analysis become available from anywhere on the globe.

Marketing departments understand how our systems add to the bottom line. Matrix Systems lead to better quality of product and on time deliveries, leading to increased customer satisfaction and further branding of your company name. Quality will always be a company’s greatest advertising tool. Those same marketing departments might not be so happy thou, as your free quality advertising might shift budgetary allocations in a different direction.

It is savings such as these that have motivated Matrix management and design engineers to provide products that will continually give you the competitive edge and beyond.
