| The development of PRIMS-CLT: Computerized Lot Traceability or Tracking (PRIMS-CLT Video, see below) is a simple, economic solution for those companies who want the benefits of computerized lot Traceability or Tracking, but don’t want computers on the production floor, or their lot Traceability or Tracking systems coupled with scaling operations. PRIMS-CLT consists of the software and operator terminals. The terminals, which would be networked to a computer residing in the supervisor’s office, were specifically designed to withstand the harsh environment of a production floor. These Watertite NEMA 4X Operator Stations can handle heat, dust, and washdowns, while connecting to hand held scanners if desired.
PRIMS-CLT allows formulas to be entered at the operator panel. The panel prompts the operator to add the next ingredient, and indicates how much of the ingredient should be added. Ingredient lot numbers are edited manually, or can be scanned at the operator panel, as the operator makes the recipe. Designed With Future Growth in MindPRIMS-CLT can be upgraded to PRIMS-CISS (Computerized “Never Over-Scale” Scaling System) because it uses the same operator panels, which permit future function capabilities. PRIMS-CLT in Action – with the Purchasing, and Label/Bar Code ModuleThis PRIMS-CLT Solution will allow your facility to generate a purchase order and an email, which is sent to your company’s suppliers. The software will convert your supplier’s 17-digit code to a 5-digit Lot Traceability or Tracking code. The arrival of the supplier’s product at receiving will prompt entry into PRIMS-CLT under received, and a label is printed, with the new tracking 5-digit code to affixed to the ingredient, and placed in Inventory. Upon carrying out a recipe, the operator will print-out the formulation form from PRIMS, with required ingredients, amounts, and instructions on picking the correct lot from inventory. The form will be signed if desired, allowing the ingredient to be picked. If using the terminal option to control the recipe and the operator, the ingredient’s Traceability or Tracking number can either be directly entered into the terminal, or if using bar code labeling, the lot number can be scanned. The operator then adds the ingredient to the batch. Article III of the Bio-Terrrorism Act is now fulfilled, as your company has immediate access to the Transport of Ingredients, Followed through Production, and Traceable from Destination; that is up and down the supply chain. The Objective Focus is satisfied as well, with rapid FDA Compliance, with measures to minimize human error, and maximize reporting, and record keeping efficiency.
